Star Quilt

This is my latest creation. My friend, Kelly, has a similar quilt and ever since I saw it 2 years ago I knew I wanted to make one. Tucker likes to call it my "starfish" blanket. I didn't have anyone in mind to give it to while making it, so I guess that means I get to keep it! Quilting has definitely become a fun hobby for me.
I appliqued the stars on and then machine stitched around the big blocks and the stars. (I'm in the process of creating a blog for all my projects and crafty things I do. Once I have it looking cute I'll share the link.)

Wow, Heather... that looks great! Motivates me to break-out the sewing machine once more.
And congrats on your anniversary and big move to Colorado! I'm so excited for you guys.

That is cool. I wanted a star room post-graduation from high school and bough all this stuff to make a quite (the easy kind with just blocks), but never did. If you end up making Tucker's room into a star room anytime, I have a set of brand new sheets that have been sitting in their package for like 8 years or something!
Good job 7 I am excited to see your projects blog. :)

Hey Brooke, I'm sure you meant to say "Wow, Lisa..." and not "Heather". (She's my sister.) Not that it matters, just thought I'd clear it up in case some of you are wondering about the comment. Collette, do you think the star quilt would fit for a boy? Someone else asked me if that was where I was going to use it, but I'm not sure if it's boyish enough. Or maybe I have no idea how to decorate...I love it, but maybe not enough to put it in his room. Thoughts anyone?

I think it is boyish enough - I guess what else is in the room could help it seem more boyish too. I really like it a lot. You did a great job. How long do you figure it took to make?

I saw that at your house today and thought it looked really cute. I need to make a quilt for Kaiden's bed, so you gotta show me how you did that before you leave. It would be perfect!

Wow! That's super impressive! I love it -though I don't know if I'd have the patience to do that myself.
