What a Great Day!

Normally I don't post about day to day things, but yesterday was seriously a GREAT day! Of course it started off with Blake waking up at 6:30, but that's ok, I get some morning time with him and get to check all my computer stuff before everyone else woke up. We were fed, dressed and out the door at 9:00am to run errands. Cody had the day off which made it really nice. We stopped by the post office to drop off an Etsy order, made a deposit at Wells Fargo and got the kids all suckers, then we headed to the Draper/Sandy area to pick some things up at Camping World, Costco, and Sports Authority. After that we headed to the Ashley Furniture warehouse to pick up my new couches! I have been waiting over 8 years to get new couches. Cody's parents gave us their old couches when we got married and as nice as it was to have a place to sit all these years, I have been waiting to get rid of them with each of our 5 moves. I wanted red couches for our piano room and finally found one I liked at Ashley Furniture. We bought them on Memorial Day, so we received the holiday discount and we picked them up with the truck yesterday. Cody LOVES his truck and yesterday was another reason why we are so glad we have it. Both sofas fit nicely in the back and we didn't have to pay for shipping or borrow anyone's vehicle.

We got back home early afternoon and were able to get a bunch of other items checked off our to-do lists. One thing that I had been wanting to do for a while was take Aubrey into the doctor to find out what was wrong with her nose. One nostril has been running for over 2 months. She hasn't been sick but something was clearly wrong. And she had this horrible smell coming from it. Sorry to any of you that have been around her and didn't know the situation. I took her in and the doctor pulled out some kind of object that was probably and inch and a half tall by half inch wide. We don't know what it was, but it was definitely causing the problem. She must be able to breathe so much better now that it's gone. : )
Tucker and Aubrey also started swimming lessons last night and are doing great in their classes. When we got home from that it rained a little bit during dinner. After dinner there was this amazing gorgeous double rainbow outside. It was so cool because you could actually see the beginning to the end. I couldn't get back far enough to obtain the whole shot, but it was beautiful.

Maybe it was the fact that I hadn't been with my family in a week, but yesterday was great. I love productive fun days that we spend together as a family.

Trip to Charm City

Last week I had the opportunity to fly to Baltimore to teach clogging workshops for the week. I flew out Sunday night and didn't return until Saturday morning. I was a little anxious to go because Cody and I had just returned from our trip to Mexico 2 weeks earlier. I was feeling slightly guilty about leaving the kids again, but I've got wonderful in-laws and parents that love my kids and had fun with them all week.

I've never stayed in a hotel all by myself and for a first time experience it sure was nice! Cody used some of his credit card points to put me up in the Sheraton by the airport. Because we are SPG members, those members stay on the top floor of the hotel. I felt pretty special because you actually had to use your room key in the elevator to get to the top floor. Not just anyone can go up there. I had a king size bed all to myself (that I only used a twin size portion of), and all the other stuff that comes with a hotel room. The SPG members received a free breakfast every morning and appetizers each evening, but I never got to partake of that, I was dancing every night from 4:30-8:30.

I was able to get together with my high school friend Sarah Jerman Collette the Tuesday I was in town. She lives in Virginia so I found the half way spot in Falls Church and we went out to breakfast at Cosi. It was fun to see a familiar face and visit and catch up. On my way back to the hotel I stopped at the Washington D.C. temple and did some temple work. A couple in our ward is currently serving a mission there and I ran into the brother when I was all done. Check out my hot yellow Chevy Aveo rental car. Why in the world would anyone want to drive something that makes you stick out all over town? Lucky me!

My original clogging girls that I taught 6-7 years ago wanted to go out to dinner with me, so we went to Pizza Hut after I was done teaching that night. It was so fun to see them. They are all amazing dancers! I of course look like I've just been dancing for 4 hours in the humidity.

On Wednesday I went shopping at Arundel Mills Mall. That place is awesome and huge. Their Quiksilver store was going out of business so I scored some really good deals. I ate at Baja Fresh, which Cody and I loved while we lived out there. Then that night I was able to meet up with my boss that I worked for before I had Tucker. We ate at Red Robin and I was able to see her cute baby Austin, and her husband.

Thursday, I taught some private lessons and went out for Sushi with Maureen after dance and on Friday I headed to the Inner Harbor to pick up some fudge from The Fudgery. That place is so fun. The workers sing while making fudge and it tastes great!

I had a great time on my alone trip. It would have been better if Cody would have been there too, so we are hoping to make that happen next year when I go back. It's fun to be "wanted" by people. Teelin is a great dance company and I'm glad I'm part of their family. : )

And Off She Goes!

Last Saturday, May 28th, I had to run to get the oil changed on one of our cars and when I came back the kids had a huge surprise for me. Aubrey was riding her bike without training wheels. She had been wearing out the right training wheel so Cody tightened them. Well, Tucker gets out his old bike that doesn't have training wheels on it and tells Aubrey to try riding it. Tucker helped balance the bike and she took off down the street! She's a little pro. Cody was shocked and ended up taking Aubrey's training wheels off and now I've got 2 kids 2 wheeling all over the neighborhood! I love the fact that it was her big brother that taught her how to ride a 2 wheeler. : )
