Last week I had the opportunity to fly to Baltimore to teach clogging workshops for the week. I flew out Sunday night and didn't return until Saturday morning. I was a little anxious to go because Cody and I had just returned from our trip to Mexico 2 weeks earlier. I was feeling slightly guilty about leaving the kids again, but I've got wonderful in-laws and parents that love my kids and had fun with them all week.
I've never stayed in a hotel all by myself and for a first time experience it sure was nice! Cody used some of his credit card points to put me up in the Sheraton by the airport. Because we are SPG members, those members stay on the top floor of the hotel. I felt pretty special because you actually had to use your room key in the elevator to get to the top floor. Not just anyone can go up there. I had a king size bed all to myself (that I only used a twin size portion of), and all the other stuff that comes with a hotel room. The SPG members received a free breakfast every morning and appetizers each evening, but I never got to partake of that, I was dancing every night from 4:30-8:30.
I was able to get together with my high school friend Sarah Jerman Collette the Tuesday I was in town. She lives in Virginia so I found the half way spot in Falls Church and we went out to breakfast at Cosi. It was fun to see a familiar face and visit and catch up. On my way back to the hotel I stopped at the Washington D.C. temple and did some temple work. A couple in our ward is currently serving a mission there and I ran into the brother when I was all done. Check out my hot yellow Chevy Aveo rental car. Why in the world would anyone want to drive something that makes you stick out all over town? Lucky me!
My original clogging girls that I taught 6-7 years ago wanted to go out to dinner with me, so we went to Pizza Hut after I was done teaching that night. It was so fun to see them. They are all amazing dancers! I of course look like I've just been dancing for 4 hours in the humidity.
On Wednesday I went shopping at Arundel Mills Mall. That place is awesome and huge. Their Quiksilver store was going out of business so I scored some really good deals. I ate at Baja Fresh, which Cody and I loved while we lived out there. Then that night I was able to meet up with my boss that I worked for before I had Tucker. We ate at Red Robin and I was able to see her cute baby Austin, and her husband.
Thursday, I taught some private lessons and went out for Sushi with Maureen after dance and on Friday I headed to the Inner Harbor to pick up some fudge from The Fudgery. That place is so fun. The workers sing while making fudge and it tastes great!
I had a great time on my alone trip. It would have been better if Cody would have been there too, so we are hoping to make that happen next year when I go back. It's fun to be "wanted" by people. Teelin is a great dance company and I'm glad I'm part of their family. : )

That's so awesome that you got to do that! So funny about the bench, the greatest city in America?? We have a mall very similar to Arundel mills and also a Baja Fresh here so next time you're in town we'll definitely have to go, I hadn't thought of that before!
That was super fun to see you and catch up, I'm so glad we could do it :) Looks like you had a great time the rest of the trip. And it already sounds like you're planning for next year...? We'll have to double next time when Cody comes with you!
