Warning, this is another dorky dental post. It is however something that made me super excited.
I just had to share this picture with everyone. I was extracting a really difficult, partially impacted wisdom tooth today. I had it quite loose, but it wouldn't quite let go. I then assumed it had curved roots from how it was acting, so I became very careful with the extraction so as to not break off the root tip (I hate digging for root tips from wisdom teeth). After quite a while of gentle twisting and coaxing, I got it out. The angle of the x-ray didn't give any indication to what I saw. LOOK AT THOSE ROOTS! No wonder it was so hard to get out. Any lesser dentist would have really struggled with that. Good thing I'm so talented, and notice that the apex is completely intact for each root. Boo yah!

Ok, I'll just say EW. So did you snap a photo in front of your patient?? Dang, you are good, Cody....like I know what I'm talking about. I just wish MY dentist used lasers....guess I need to move to Colorado. I have to take sedatives when I go in there.
OMG, that is so disgusting. congrats!
Here's mine from last week

Thats all well and good Cody but.....they sent you the wrong patient. That person was in for some whiteing!!!! Just kidding. Looks like a spark plug I replaced once.

That's gross.
i unfortunately learned the hard way that 99% of the world does not enjoy seeing pictures of teeth/mouths. i can definitely appreciate a good tooth post though.
GROSS! I'm so glad Ty's not a dentist...sick.
I'VE SEEN A TOOTH OR TWO OR MORE THAT LOOK LIKE THAT IN MY DENTAL ASSISTANT DAYS! EXTRACTIONS ARE THE WORST IN THE SENSE OF HOW HOT YOU GET! WE ALWAYS STOOD AND STANGING UP UNDER THAT LIGHT AND WORKING SO HARD TO GET TEETH OUT IS A SWEATY JOB! *THE DENTIST I WORKED FOR WAS ABOUT 6'2 AND ME BEING 5'1 I HAD TO STAND ON A COKE CRATE SO I COULD SUCTIONAND RETRACT! LOL. BUT I ENJOY YOUR TOOTH POSTS! GREAT WORK!
Was your patient awake?
Nice job... now I know how you spend your free time when Lisa and the kids are away... ;-)
Ken
not a fan of the nasty pic...but good job nonetheless... =)
You are a dentist? I thought University of Maryland was a school for plummers! That is a mighty fine piece of work there....DOCK'tor.

Oddly enough, I find your picture pretty fascinating. Gross, but fascinating. I don't have a lot to compare to, but I'd say you're probably the best dentist I know . . . oh wait, I just thought of a better one, but I get great service from him, no one can compare, so don't feel bad :)

Nice job Cody, I am thoroughly impressed with your ability to assess your extractions. The education you have received from the blessed University of Maryland must be credited for your ability to evaluate problematic circumstances such as these. I applaud you and the wonderful faculty of the University, especially the Deans. Just curious, is it really considered "partially impacted" when the patients tongue was lapping now and again over that fully erupted 3rd? Any lesser of a dentist would have missed that. Just kidding. We miss you guys. Go Cougs!!!
