10 year high school reunion

Last night Cody and I went to my 10 year reunion from Skyline High School. It was fun to see a bunch of classmates and meet spouses, etc. I admit there were a bunch of people I didn't recognize at all and even when I asked their names, it didn't ring a bell. I guess that's what you get when you graduated with a class of around 700 people. I do know these girls. Me, Alysha, Jessica, Maquel, Danielle, Maren, and Megan.
Me, Maquel, Annie and Regan
Erin and Katie
Me (obviously), Danny and his wife Shira

There were a lot of people that I would have like to see at the reunion, but weren't there. Hopefully more people will make an effort to attend our 20 year.

Big Baby Blake

Blake has been growing pretty steadily. I wish I knew how much he weighs, but he doesn't go in for his 2 month checkup for 2 weeks, so that detail will just have to wait. After I made Blake's baby quilt I found this cute sleeper outfit. I figured I better take a picture of him in it - with his blanket -  before it was way to small.
He's getting better at holding his head up and sometimes smiles for us. I have yet to capture the smile on camera though.
I love this little guys round head. He's been a great baby and slept 7 hours last night - yahoo!

Trial Lake Camping

Last weekend we were able to go camping up in the Uintah's at Trial Lake. I grew up camping there every year as a child, so I was excited to go back and take my kids. Cody's family planned the trip and it was fun to see a bunch of his cousins that we rarely see. We went up Thursday evening and earlier that day Tucker was stung by a bee at a friends house. His poor face was all swollen and looked even worse the next day.
Cody and I slept in the tent on the back of the truck with Blake and the older kids slept in the 5th wheel with G&G Calderwood. It was really cold the first night we were there and I didn't get much sleep due to the fact that it was so cold. Cody and I drove home to sleep the next night and came back early the next morning. It's nice living a lot closer to mountain activities!
We brought bikes and scooters along and the kids made some new friends as they wheeled around the circle.
Roasting marshmallows with their second cousins.
Blake's first camping experience.
Cole can still be found pushing his trusty dump truck around. He LOVES that thing!
They kids tried their luck at fishing at Trial Lake but it was super crowded and we didn't have a boat to go out on the lake. The next day we went for a drive though and Tucker was able to catch a fish with Cody.
Saturday morning we hiked up to Wall Lake. It's only a 1 mile hike to the lake and Tucker and Aubrey did great.
Cole relaxing in his carrier.
We did the hike with Cody's cousin Curt and his wife and 2 children.
Tucker made it to the lake first!

Always playing catch up it seems

I guess 4 kids has been keeping me busy! I'm a bit behind in the blogging world. Here is a picture of my cute boys, taken back on 8/4. Blake definitely looks a lot like Tucker. Cole is looking like he doesn't belong in this picture. I love my little redhead though! : )
I've seen cute pictures with all the kids feet lined up.  Here's my attempt. Cole wasn't sitting still for it, and when he was lying down, he'd kick whoever was next to him. Oh well, the 3 feet are cute anyway.
My kids are getting excited for Halloween.
Heather and Dan gave us this Ikea bookshelf that I finally put together. Our office FINALLY doesn't sport diaper boxes. It's been 2 years and it's so nice to have a place for things. It's not organized exactly the way I want it yet, but it's such a huge improvement, and you can't pass up free stuff!
Blake is chunking up. This was taken 8/14, so he was 1 month old. I can't believe that 6 weeks have gone by since I gave birth to this guy. You count down the weeks and days for so long leading up to having a baby and then the time flies by. I have my checkup tomorrow and I can't wait to start running again and hitting the gym. I'll feel so much better getting my muscles moving and losing more of this baby weight.
All of us are doing well at home. Cody is gearing up for Swiss Days in less than 2 weeks. It consumes his life for an entire week. If you come up to it, let us know, we'd love to see you. In my spare time I've been making hooded towels to prepare for Swiss Christmas. I started months ago so that I won't have as much to do in November. Tucker and Aubrey start preschool after Labor Day and are super excited. We are understanding Cole more and more lately. He's learned quite a few new words and is so fun to have around. He is all boy and loves to wrestle anyone! Blake is consistently sleeping 5 hours for his first stretch at night. Last night was 6 hours and I'm hoping it will continue to get longer. I'm sad that summer is almost over, it went by too quickly for me, but fall is my favorite season, so bring it on!

Maryland Friends

Last night we were able to get together with a lot of friends that lived in Maryland with us. We had 9 couples and 20 kids. 38 people! It was crazy fun! A lot of these folks we hadn't seen in 2 years. Families have certainly gotten larger and it was great to catch up and reminisce. Between the 3 couples below (pretend I'm in the green chair) we've added 5 kids since graduation. (Starley's, us and the MacDonalds).
It was perfect that we live in a non busy circle. The kids played outside on the grass and in the circle the whole night.

Creamsicle boy
Camille and Aaron
Brigham and Ryan
The Harmons and Rush's
Girls from our dental class. Liz, Stacey, Amber and me. 3 of us had babies in the past 3 months.
Lundberg Family
We're thinking we should make it an annual tradition to get together with the Maryland people. Thanks for coming everyone!

Hot Air Balloon

Every morning we wake up and can see a couple hot air balloons floating across the Heber Valley. Well on Friday, a hot air balloon was right above our house. We took the kids outside to watch it and to our enjoyment and fun the balloon landed right in our circle.
Those balloons are huge and they sure do cram the people in there. There were 9 people in the basket. We overheard that the balloon itself weighs 650 pounds all rolled up.
The operator was really nice and let the kids play around in the basket. We called our neighbor to have her bring her daughter over to see the balloon too.
Too bad it's so expensive to take a ride in the balloon - the kids would love it!

Why Dentistry is the Coolest Profession

How many other jobs do you know of that can create such life changing experiences as this? We had a patient come to us that has gone his whole life with this smile. He was born missing the lateral incisor and that front, dark looking tooth died when he was a kid after a playground accident. We took him from this:

To this:

As you can imagine, he was extremely excited about the results. Yeah, I love my job.

Who wouldn't...

...want a lifesize doll to stroll around with?
I have never had a kid fall asleep eating until now. So cute!
